Gorzkie Zale [gosh-geh-zahl-leh] is a devotion that includesBenediction and leads participants to meditate on the Passion and Crucifixion of Christ through chant and song.There are three parts to the devotion and at St. Joseph Church: the first part is on the first Sunday of Lent,the second part, on the second Sunday of Lent, and
the third part, on the third Sunday of Lent.
The cycle is repeated for the fourth, fifth and sixth Sundays of Lent.Regretfully, due to the lack of Polish choir members, we no longer have Gorzkie Zale during the Lenten seaon.
