The parish is the Eucharistic community and the heart of the liturgical life of Christian families; it is a privileged place for the catechesis of children and parents.
[2226, Catechism of the Catholic Church]
Altar servers have an important role in the celebration of the Mass.
Along with the congregation, servers respond to the prayers and join in singing the hymns. They carry the cross and the processional candles. They assist the priest when he receives the gifts from the people and when he washes his hands. They ring a bell during the Consecration.
Any child interested in becoming an Altar Server should contact the parish office at 845-651-7792.
